COR’S
MISSION
1.
To assist parents in
training their children to be disciples of Christ
2.
To prepare God’s
children for eternal life, and for joyful service in this life
3.
To help each child
develop his/her gifts to be used to God’s glory
COR’S
EXPECTATIONS
1.
That we are respectful
to God and all others
2.
That we become disciples
looking for opportunities for service
3.
That we learn to be
self-disciplined and self-controlled
4.
That we LOVE
LEARNING
5.
That we become
successful students: thinkers, problem solvers
6.
That we learn to make
God-pleasing decisions
7.
That we accept the
consequences for our actions and learn from our mistakes
To help us, as ministers and teachers of God’s lambs, stay focused on that theme, we have attempted to develop a set of objectives to be used as we plan for the education of all students to prepare them to fulfill that command. As the words of our handbook state: “Because COR is concerned with educating the whole child, our objectives deal not only with the spiritual, but also the intellectual, emotional, and physical.” Therefore we will attempt to describe the criteria for COR students in those four areas.
This picture of COR students will then be used by the teachers as we plan for the education of the students. It will help us stay “on the same page” as we study curriculum, set objectives for daily lesson plans, and plan for the total education of the students God has entrusted into our care.
